R3I Financial Opportunities
Please consider making donations to these specific projects. Our pledge is that at least 91% of all designated money will be used specifically for that project.
-
- Urban Youth Training and Missions: We would like to be able to train several urban youth for disaster response and missions support, including taking them on summer mission teams. They would be responsible for raising a small portion of their funds, but the bulk would need to be donated: $10,000.
- KENYA June Missions Trip: New City is sending a team to Nairobi to serve the church there. The team will be about 10 people and each needs to raise $2500.
- R3I Informational Dinner: Inviting local church and ministry leaders for a dinner meeting to hear more about R3I and how we, as the Chattanooga community, can work together more in missions and disaster response.
- 2010 Budget: To accomplish our goals for this year we need $59,600. This includes money to pay one salary, office costs, mission trip leadership, and initial disaster responses. The Executive Director works full time to cover the costs of his own salary, but the ministry will need a full time employee.
- Nairobi Refugee and Urban Ministry Support Center: To assist local churches in Nairobi, Kenya meeting the needs of refugees from the war in Congo, of IDP’s, and of the large informal urban communities. A building would need to be purchased and furnished. Cost: $80,000
- International Community Volunteer Fire Departments: There is great need in many urban and poor international communities for community based volunteer fire and medical services. Many large cities have only one fire department, and it can take over three hours to respond to poor communities. We would like to set up models in Nairobi that can be imitated globally, with each international station linked to a US partner station that will help provide basic training and equipment. Initial cost for setup of two stations, development of networks, training, and administration: $95,000
- Youth Pastor and African American Church Vision Trip: The goal is to promote healthy involvement in international missions and to encourage deeper connections in short term missions among youth groups and in African American churches. Initial cost for promotion, networking, training. Team leadership, and administration: $12,000
- Urban Youth International Experience: The goal is to give an opportunity for urban and disadvantaged youth to have a substantial international experience that will expose them to global issues, allow them to engage in meaningful service, and help expand their worldview. Cost for three trips: $85,000
